Creative Entrepreneurship: Building with Intention
Stefanie Vruwink Reiser ’85 transforms communities through creative and social entrepreneurship. After a career in government, she founded ventures like The Nicholson Project, an arts residency uplifting underserved D.C. neighborhoods, and Acknowledge.co, a regenerative hemp farm promoting sustainability. Rooted in her Central education, Reiser builds businesses that drive impact, equity and opportunity — honoring her legacy by supporting scholarships that help future leaders do the same.
Funding the Future
From scholarship recipient to Central College trustee, Deanna Ver Steeg ’94 has turned gratitude into action through a lifelong commitment to service, mentorship and philanthropy. Her Central journey reflects the power of education to shape purpose and spark impact. By doing good in the world and on behalf of Central, Ver Steeg ensures future students have the same opportunity to discover who they are — and who they’re meant to become.
Giving Back to Help Others Grow
For Emily and Larry Reynen ’71, giving back is a way to honor the values that shaped their lives: Faith, family, hard work and the power of education. Through Central’s Leave A Legacy Challenge, the couple hopes to inspire others to give boldly and intentionally — ensuring students from all backgrounds can experience the same transformative opportunities that shaped Larry’s journey, both on campus and beyond.
